Why EPUB is often better than PDF for reading
PDF and EPUB solve different problems. A PDF protects the original page. An EPUB adapts the book to the person reading it.
A PDF keeps every line, image, margin, and page break in a fixed position. That fidelity is valuable when a document must print exactly as designed. Will the EPUB look exactly like the PDF?
Usually not, and that is the point of reflowable EPUB. Text is reorganized to fit the reader. Image-heavy, scanned, multi-column, equation-heavy, and table-heavy PDFs can require manual cleanup.
Can I read the EPUB on Kindle?
Yes. Current Kindle workflows accept EPUB through Send to Kindle. Amazon converts it for delivery to your Kindle library.
What happens to my PDF?
The PDF and generated EPUB are stored privately for conversion and scheduled for automatic deletion. Public bucket access is disabled.
Can this convert a scanned PDF?
Not reliably in the MVP. Scanned PDFs need OCR before their words can become clean reflowable text.
