Short-lived files and minimal data.

ScribeSquirrel stores only what is needed to complete and operate the conversion service.

Uploaded and generated files

PDF uploads and generated EPUB files are stored in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket. They are accessed with short-lived signed links and scheduled for automatic deletion. Files are not used to train models, published, or reviewed as part of the normal conversion workflow.

Conversion records

A temporary job record stores a random job ID, conversion status, file size, original filename for download naming, timestamps, and technical failure information. Job records expire automatically. We hash source IP addresses to enforce abuse limits rather than storing the plain address in the conversion record.

Analytics

Google Analytics measures aggregate visitors, acquisition, and page use when configured. Mixpanel receives server-side product events such as upload started, conversion succeeded, failure category, and download started. Analytics events must not contain document contents, extracted text, raw storage keys, or filenames.

Your responsibility

Upload only files you are permitted to process. Do not use the service to bypass access controls or redistribute copyrighted books.
