Refund Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
ScribeSquirrel wants customers to receive the audiobook-generation service they paid for. This policy explains when a purchase may be refunded.
1. What the purchase covers
Each US$4.99 purchase covers one audiobook-generation job for one eligible PDF, EPUB, or TXT file containing up to 50,000 words. It includes the selected synthetic narrator, processing, and temporary access to the resulting MP3. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
2. When a refund is available
You may request a full refund if:
- ScribeSquirrel charges you more than once for the same job;
- the paid job fails because of a technical problem in the Service and we cannot complete it after a reasonable retry;
- no downloadable MP3 is delivered or made available to your account; or
- the delivered MP3 is materially unusable because of a technical failure caused by ScribeSquirrel and we cannot reasonably repair or regenerate it.
Please contact us within 14 days of purchase. Include the email address used for checkout and the order number or job identifier. Do not send your full payment-card number.
3. Situations that are normally not refundable
Except where required by law, we normally do not provide a refund when:
- a complete MP3 was successfully generated and made available, and the request is based only on a change of mind;
- you prefer a different narrator after selecting a voice and starting generation;
- limitations in the source file—such as scans, image-only pages, poor text extraction, complex formatting, tables, equations, or corrupted text—affect the result;
- the uploaded file is unsupported, password-protected, DRM-protected, exceeds the stated limit, or cannot legally be processed;
- you did not have the necessary rights or permission to process the source material;
- you fail to download the MP3 before its approximately 14-day availability period expires; or
- your device or third-party audio software cannot play an otherwise valid MP3.
We will consider reasonable requests individually, and these exclusions do not override mandatory consumer rights.
4. How to request a refund
Email alec@scribesquirrel.com. Explain what went wrong and provide the order number, job identifier, and checkout email address.
We may first offer to retry or regenerate the audiobook when that is likely to solve the problem. If the request is eligible, the refund will be returned through the original payment method by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record.
After a refund is issued, it may take up to 10 days to appear on your statement, depending on the payment method and financial institution.
5. Lemon Squeezy and legal rights
Lemon Squeezy processes ScribeSquirrel payments as merchant of record and may process refunds or chargebacks under its buyer terms. Lemon Squeezy also retains discretion to issue certain refunds.
Nothing in this policy limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law. If local law gives you a non-waivable right to cancel or receive a refund, that law applies.
6. Policy changes
We may update this policy for future purchases. The policy in effect when you purchase will govern that purchase unless applicable law requires otherwise.
